Willie, the famous yorkie

My friend Tyra has a Yorkshire terrier 'BoBo'. Loved her to death, yesterday was her grooming day. She ask me what kind of 'style' should she go for. I was like ....WHAT ? I don't know, I don't have a dog not even a pet fish. Anyway she sms me this :

Me: WOW !!!! that's BoBo?
Tyra: No that's not BoBo, it's Willie, the famous yorkie with the gorgeous hair!
Me: Isn't that like pretty intense?
Tyra: It's beautiful !
Me: Willie is a boy right? and with this hair?
Tyra: that's what I thought, but it'll be perfect for BoBo!

Long story short, the groomer was not impressed either. She said ya... it's cute for a photo shot but not practical. Tyra was quite disappointed. And I was happy for BoBo. I wouldn't want to look like a crazy pup either ....lol...

Choose your major with care

A master's degree in history is like a sixth toe: it's kind of cool to have but there's not a lot you can do with it. Both my boy friend & his sister spend more than 10 years studying in America. My boy friend doing business & his sister , masters in History ! He could easily get a job but She has sent out 100s of applications & wound up with 2 options: teaching in some high school in America or come back & try her luck here.

Both of them decided to come back. She told me, the thought of American teenagers is enough in giving her acid reflux ...lol...
I've never ask her why choose history? My boy friend told me could be her strange fixation on the movie "Night at the museum" ...seriously ????

Adjusting to life back home, after years abroad .

Today the bf sent me this:
Hmmm.... I'm a little worried about him now. Frankly, he's not all weird or anything like that. He's just a little sensitive & not used to the local people's attitude. He had spent most of his life studying in the States & has just got back.

In fact most people treats him very nice as he's charming & that 'accent' does help ...haha... But he needs to get used to people not being as 'open' as the Americans. He even feels 'alienated' with his own family. Wonder if he feels that about me? Oh Boy...Do I have to start worrying about that as well?

People who like to take advantage of others!

That's what happened yesterday! A very nice colleague bought some unusual limited edition cosmetics from Paris for us there's like 3 eye shadows in the package which costs $400- Each of us took one. By right we should pay 133.3333 each. Then one of the girls (Girl 1) suggested the 2 of them would pay $133 & me $134. It's OK, small thing. There's also a free gift with this purchase, a small pouch which is very cute. The same girl suggested we draw lots for it, but I was thinking maybe, we should let the person who went all the way to Paris & bought it , to have it. But Girl 1 insisted it's only fair we draw lots. Me & Paris Girl look at each other, in the end we gave in.

Paris Girl drew the winner, I was happy about it as she deserve it. But Girl 1, kept nagging about how cute it is, plus Paris Girl must have bought many nice things from Paris already etc...etc.. To the point Paris Girl gave up & gave the pouch to Girl 1, to shut her up I guess. Why go through the charade of drawing lots if you don't abide by the rules right?

Paris Girl had by now posted all the pics of the trip & all her purchases on fb. Girl 1 had log on & started pestering her about a certain seriously cute blouse. Since Paris Girl was wearing it in one of the pictures, Girl 1 declared that it's "used" & Paris Girl should let it go at a 50% discount.

By now we had enough. Paris Girl just said, no not selling, not even at full price!

"Look ! A pyramid"

Guys never get it. When it's over, it's over. My friend's ex-boy friend is still pestering her to go back to him. Yesterday he got a little more desperate as it has been a month since she moved out & refuse to answer his calls. He changed his strategy & came to see me as I'm her good friend & also the one who helped her moved out.

I told him, she found out about his debts & she is not getting involved.
He said :"Really??, I never realized, she never said anything before."
I then told him kindly: " It's so obvious, she assumed you knew. It's like ,when you go to Egypt, you don't grab the locals by the arm, point & go, "Look ! A pyramid" "

He looked confused, & go "What Pyramid? " ...lol...
Conclusion: ...... not the brightest guy around. I'm glad she's not with him anymore. A little dim, & in debts ....boy... what a combo !

Look! Beautiful Pyramids !!! lol..

Leaving the boyfriend, the truth finally !

Since I helped my friend moved out from her boy friend's place while he was away last month, lots had happened. When he came back he was shocked to find her things gone. She didn't return his calls , so he called me (me being her buddy) . I told him the truth , which was, I didn't know what the hell was happening as well. I also own up that I was the one who helped her moved , not some strange guy- I hope that makes him feel better.

He has been calling & texting me, as if I know the answer. Well I'm curious too, so I ask her. What went wrong. We met up for dinner last night. She said there were things she think it's time to explain, she needed to unburden herself & I thought , oh here we go, she's going to get it off her chest & dump in on mine! GREAT ..... It felt like she's holding on to my hand like she had fallen into quicksand & I was the one pulling her out.

So... what was it? Apparently she had been going through his things, while he was away. He had about 5 credit cards from different banks, all max out & he's only paying the minimum payment for each card per month. He now owe almost $40K in credit card bills !!!!! Also he has not pay his rental for his posh apartment for more then 3 months already (rental is $4,500- per month). The landlord has sent him a lawyer's letter to chase for the money.

WOW.... she looked at me & all I could think of is, thank goodness she has the sense to move out before it's too late! Has he ask money from her? No she said. But we figured it wont be long if she stays on. But what happened to him? She don't know. And i agree it might be better she don't ask. What's the point right?
She suspect it's gambling !!!
Me too!
How we wish this would happen right? But ....
